Q. What is Leadership Prince George’s mission?
A. Generally, the mission of LPG is to support leaders who live and/or work in Prince George’s County improve their leadership skills, expand their professional networks, and positively impact the citizens in
Prince George ’s County.

Q. How long has Leadership Prince George’s existed and how did the organization begin?
A. Leadership Prince George’s was founded in 1985 by Dr. William A. Welch, former director of the
Prince George ’s County Human Relations Commission. Originally a part of the County, Leadership Prince George’s is currently and independent membership 501 c (3) organization.

Joining LPG FAQ’s
Q. How do I join Leadership Prince George’s?
A. All interested participants must compete for a position in the 10 month long Leadership Program; and must successfully complete the Program. Upon graduation from the Program, the graduates are eligible for membership in the organization and may maintain active membership by paying annual dues and participating in LPG activities. Applications for the Leadership Program are accepted March through May each year and may be also be obtained from the Leadership Prince George’s Office or by visiting the LPG website.

Q. How much does it cost to join Leadership Prince George’s?
A. Tuition for the Leadership Program is currently $3,500. Annual membership dues are currently $125 per year.
Q. When are the applications due for the upcoming class and when will I receive notification of acceptance?
A. LPG applications for each program year are available Spring of each year and can be obtained from the LPG website and/or the LPG office. Applicants are notified of acceptance by July 31st each year.
Q. What is the time commitment for LPG Leadership Program?
A. Leadership Program participants must commit to a three day opening residential retreat (September), one 8-10 hour day each month (October through May), and a three day ending residential retreat (June).
Q. How many days am I allowed to be absent as a participant of the Leadership Program?
A. All class participants are allowed 12 hours of missed class time but are encouraged to attend ALL sessions. Both residential retreats are REQUIRED.
Q. How much are the membership dues?
A. LPG’s annual membership dues are $125.00 a year.

A. There are three ways to change or update your personal contact information.

2. Fill out the membership update form on the LPG website at www.leadershipprincegeorges.org.

Q. When and how do I renew my membership?
A. Membership is renewed on a calendar year basis. Renewal notices are mailed and emailed to all members at the beginning of each year. You may also renew your membership by calling us at (301) 322-0962 so that we may assist you personally in completing the membership renewal process.

A.: The best way to find out about your membership status is to call the LPG office at (301) 322-0962.
Q. What does it mean to be a graduate or member of LPG?
A. Leadership Prince George’s graduates are those persons who have successfully completed the LPG Leadership Program and LPG members are persons who have BOTH successfully completed the LPG Leadership Program and are current in paying annual membership dues of $125.
