Putting Professional Passion into Prince George's County
The Prince George’s County sheriff’s office was given nearly 100 plush toy bears from members of Leadership Prince George’s during the organization’s annual Alumni Christmas Party on Dec. 13.
Leadership Prince George’s is a nonprofit organization for residents in county leadership positions to enhance their leadership skills and assess community needs together.
Col. Darrin Palmer is the chief assistant sheriff of the sheriff’s department and is a graduate of the Leadership Prince George’s program. He accepted the donation of stuffed bears on behalf of the department.
This is the second year Leadership Prince George’s has partnered with the sheriff’s department to provide the toys, which are given to small children by deputy sheriffs while at the scene of domestic violence calls.
“These teddy bears can be a great help in bringing comfort and a sense of normalcy to a chaotic situation,” Palmer said in a statement.
